Sizing
We measure the length along the inside of the shoe, with a tape measure, pressing it flat over the arch against the shoe. You can meaure the inside of a pair of your shoes that fit particularly well to see which size would be best to order.
USA size 4 = Argentine size 34 = 22.5 cm long = 7.4 cm wide
USA size 5 = Argentine size 35 = 23.5 cm long = 7.5 cm wide
USA size 6 = Argentine size 36 = 24 cm long = 7.7 cm wide
USA size 7 = Argentine size 37 = 24.5 cm long = 8 cm wide
USA size 8 = Argentine size 38 = 25 cm long = 8.3 cm wide
USA size 9 = Argentine size 39 = 25.5 cm long = 8.4 cm wide
USA size 10 = Argentine size 40 = 26.5 cm long = 8.5 cm wide
USA size 11 = Argentine size 41 = 27 cm long = 8.7 cm wide
Do
the shoe sizes listed run small or
large?
The sizes listed
on this website are consistent with American street sizes. If you
have wide feet, get an open toe style so your toes have more room
to spread out. Shoes in suede material are the softest and hence
have the most 'give'. Patent leather shoes will stretch the
least.
Does
Comme il Faut make half
sizes?
No. If you are a
half size, you would usually want to order the smaller size in an
open-toe style and the larger size in a peep-toe
style.

Do you accept returns? What if the shoes don't fit me?
Yes. If your shoes are not absolutely perfect for you, we will exchange them or refund you. There are, however, a few rules:
* Returned shoes must be unworn and in the same condition they were shipped in. Take care not to scuff the bottoms when you are trying them on.
* You MUST let us know by email or telephone before returning a pair. The return address varies depending on if we are traveling.
* Returns must be made within one month from date of shipment.
* The buyer is responsible for shipping costs on returned shoes.
* Return shipment via USPS priority mail, or the equivalent, is strongly recommended.
* Refunds are made via PayPal and will go directly back to the account you paid with.
How
often do you receive new shoe
shipments?
We receive new shoes once a month, so there's always something exciting in stock!
Can
I special-order a specific pair of shoes from
you?
No, we do not take special orders. This is because it is difficult to get exactly the same pair that you might have seen somewhere else because Comme il Faut makes each design in batches of just 30 pairs! Each pair is essentially a limited edition item, and Comme il Faut is constantly introducing new styles and materials. This is great because you'll probably be the only person at the milonga with your pair. So, if you come across something in your size that you like, don't wait to make it yours!
What heel heights does Comme il Faut make?
4 inch, 3.75 inch, 3.5 inch, 3.25 inch and 3 inch stilettos. There is also a flared louis heel and a thicker cuban heel.
What are the soles made of?
The Comme il Faut tango shoe soles are leather. Some are painted leather (either natural or gold) and some are brushed leather. You may scuff them with a wire brush or on the pavement to give them extra traction before you wear them the first time if you find the virgin sole slippery. You can also wear the shoes in the street without worrying about ruining the soles.
Our Maleva line of dance sheos features an ultra-flexible, soft, suede sole. It is the sole of choice of most professionals in the ballroom and salsa dance worlds, and is actually the biggest difference between dance shoes and regular street shoes. The suede bottom allows for the perfect combination of grip and glide. A light-as-air suede sole can also pretty much bend in half, allowing you to beautifully flex and point your feet, and to really feel the floor. There is a steel shank under your arch for support and stability.
